Cadaver Donation - Felicitation to Com J Gurumurthy heralds yet another initiative & movement
Senior leader of the Insurance employees movement Com J Gurumurthy pledged to donate his body (cadaver donation) for harvesting of organs and for Medical Research. This was announced by him in the felicitation function got up for him at Chennai on Dec 4 in connection with his retirement from United India Insurance Co after four decades of service. Com AK Padmanabhan (President, CITU) was the chief guest on the occasion. Comrades Amanulla Khan (President, AIIEA), K.Venu Gopal (General Secretary), N.M.Sundaram, R.Santhanam, P.Bagchi, K.Swaminathan, P.V.Nanda Kumar and leaders from various organisations extended greetings. Com.Gurumurthy was recently re-elected for another term as Joint Secretary of All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA) & as Secretary of Standing Committee (Gen Ins) in the national conference of the Association held at Delhi during Nov 20-24. JG is a regular blood donor and he has already pledged for eye donation. We salute Com.JG for his noble lead.

Dear Guruji, Mr Arun Goel, who had once been Internal Audit Incharge, RO Delhi had been here at Moradabad on Thursday. He was enquiring about you. Probably, he knows you very well. Dear Guruji, I honestly believe you have won hearts of so many people. Today, S K Verma rang up to me and he was saying that your image is such that not only AIIEA but whoever knows you personally will feel proud about it. I personally feel that whenever you came across any genuine request/demand from the employee's side, you joined hands & worked for it from the core of your heart. On hearing of your retirement on 30th Nov morning, for sometime, I had the feeling that I was losing something absolutely very very precious.

ஒரு பொதுத்துறை நிறுவன ஊழியரின் பணி நிறைவு பாராட்டு நிகழ்ச்சி, ஒவ்வொரு தொழிற்சங்க ஊழியருக்கும் சமுதாய அக்கறை தேவை என்று வலியுறுத்துகிற மாநாடு போல நடைபெற்றது.
அகில இந்திய இன்சூரன்ஸ் ஊழியர் (ஏஐஐஇஏ - பொதுக் காப்பீடு) சங்கத்தின் நிலைக்குழு செயலாளர் ஜே. குருமூர்த்தி பொதுத்துறை நிறுவனமான யுனைடெட் இந்தியா இன்சூரன்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தில் பணியாற்றி ஓய்வு பெற்றுள்ளார். அவரது பணி நிறைவு பாராட்டுக் கூட்டம் சென்னை மண்டல பொது இன்சூரன்ஸ் ஊழியர் சங்கத்தின் சார்பில் சனிக்கிழமையன்று (டிச. 4) சென்னையில் நடைபெற்றது. சங்கப் பணிகளிலும், ஊழியர் பிரச்சனைகளிலும், மக்கள் நல இயக்கங்களிலும் முழுமையாக ஈடுபடுவதற்கென்றே பதவி உயர்வு வாய்ப்புகளை நிராகரித்தவரான குருமூர்த்தியின் அர்ப்பணிப்புமிக்க பங்களிப்புகளை அனைவரும் நினைவுகூர்ந்தனர்.
சிஐடியு அகில இந்திய தலைவர் ஏ. கே. பத்மநாபன், “ஒவ்வொரு தொழிற்சங்க ஊழியருக்கும் சமுதாய அக்கறை தேவை. சமூக மாற் றங்களை உள்வாங்கிக் கொண்டு செயல்படுகிறவர் களாக தொழிற்சங்கத்தினர் வளரவேண்டும்’’ என்று கூறினார்.
தொழிற்சங்க உரிமை என்பதே கூட இன்று கேள்விக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. எல்ஐசி, ஜிஐசி போன்ற பொதுத்துறை நிறுவனங்களை பாதுகாக்க போராட வேண்டிய சூழல் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது என்று கூறிய அவர், “பணி ஓய்வு பெற்றுவிட்டாலும், இன்னும் விரிவான சமுதாய இயக்கக் களங்களில் குருமூர்த்தி செயல்பட வேண்டிய தேவைஉள்ளது” என்றார்.
ஏஐஐஇஏ மூத்த தலைவரும் ‘இன்சூரன்ஸ் ஒர்க்கர்’ பத்திரிகையின் ஆசிரியருமான என்.எம். சுந்தரம், “நாம் தொழிற்சங்க இயக்கம் மட்டுமே அல்ல, மாறாக ஒரு மக்கள் இயக்கமாகச் செயல்பட வேண்டும்,’’ என்றார். அனைத்து பொதுத் துறை நிறுவனங்களையும் தனியார் மயமாக்க அரசு முயல்கிறபோது, தொழிலைப் பாதுகாக்கிற கடமையும் தொழிற்சங்க இயக்கத் தின் தோளிலேயே விழுந்திருக்கிறது என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்.
குருமூர்த்தி போன்ற உறுதியான தோழர்களின் வலுவான போராட்டத்தால் தான் எல்ஐசி, ஜிஐசி நிறுவனங்களைப் பாதுகாக்க முடிந்தது. அரசைக் கேள்வி கேட்க மக்களுக்கு கற்றுத் தருகிற பொறுப்பும் தொழிற்சங்க ஊழியர்களுக்கு இருக்கிறது,” என்றும் அவர் கூறினார்.
சங்கத்தின் அகில இந்திய தலைவர் அமானுல்லா கான், பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனங்களின் ஆக்கிரமிப்புடன் வருகிற பண்பாட்டுத் தாக்கங்களையும் எதிர்த்து போராட வேண்டியுள்ளது என்றார். பொதுச்செயலாளர் கே. வேணுகோபால், மக்கள் பணமும், ஊழியர் நலனும் பாதுகாக்கப்பட வேண்டுமானால் பொதுத்துறை நிறுவனங்கள் பாதுகாக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்றார்.
ஏஐஐஇஏ தலைவர்கள் ஆர். சந்தானம், ஆர். வைகுண்டம், பி. பக்ஷி, கே. சுவாமிநாதன் ஆகியோரும் பல்வேறு சகோதர அமைப்புகளின் தலைவர்களும் பாராட்டுரை வழங்கினர்.
மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் மாநிலச்செயலாளர் ஜி. ராமகிருஷ்ணன் உள்ளிட்ட பலரும் வாழ்த்துச் செய்தி அனுப்பியிருந்தனர். எல். உமாமகேஸ்வரி வரவேற்றார், ஜி. கிருஷ்ணகுமார் நன்றி கூறினார்.
இயக்கமாக வேண்டிய உடல் தானம் ஏற்புரை வழங்கிய ஜே. குருமூர்த்தி, அனைத்துப் பாராட்டுகளும் சங்க இயக்கத்திற்கே சேரவேண்டும் என்றார். எனது மறைவுக்குப் பின் உடல் எரிக்கப்பட்டுவிடக் கூடாது. கண்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அங்கங்கள் தேவைப்படுவோருக்காகவும், மருத்துவ ஆராய்ச்சிக்காகவும் எனது உடலைத் தானமாக வழங்க முடிவு செய்திருக்கிறேன். மேற்கு வங்கத்தில் உடல் தானம் என்பது ஒரு மக்களிடையே பரவியுள்ளது. தமிழகத்திலும் இது ஒரு இயக்கமாக வளரவேண்டும், என்ற தமது விருப்பத்தையும் அவர் வெளியிட்டார். அவரது இயக்க பணிகளுக்கு உடனிருந்து ஒத்துழைத்து வருபவரான அவரது மனைவி ரமா இந்த முடிவை அங்கீகரித்து தானும் சேர்ந்து கரவொலி எழுப்பினார் |
